Today was a good meeting. We talked about some ideas for projects to make for our families for the upcoming holidays. The students decided on pictures that are infused on wood. This is an inexpensive project that is easy to create and also is very individualistic in that each student chooses their own picture for their recipient. I'm really curious to see what they pick out. We also had a showcase of our game controller stands that we began creating in our last meeting. I was really pleased with this project and the results were exceptional! This is something that I plan on doing every year because the cost is so miniscule and the excitement around this project is very different than prior ones that we created. I feel like this should be the initial project each year because it truly captures the ideas that I want for the group: they can build something that they already have a need and they get more creative after each project with their own ideas about what can be built.
